Whats wrong with my shift lever on my 1999 ford expedition?

No, its not a sign if a transmission problem. Is a possibility that the switch that shows the indication is out of alignment with the position its supposed to be in. If you have a warranty on it, or want to have it taken care of, more and likely the dealer would be able to fix it. Or just leave it alone.
