Whipped cream, it's not working?!?!?!?!?

Do you have sugar in it? I know we make whipped cream from heavy cream and sugar and it's not complicated, but I do remember we always use a stainless steel or copper bowl. I do know with some things you can "overwhip" and have it go flat.
