Is this a good reason to break up with someone?

Don't know what to do about my BF. Things were going really great until he left for a 3-wk business trip for a very stressful critical project. He was very distant and disengaged when he left and the 1st time he called was 8 days later, only after I sent him a note asking where he's been. He called and apologized profusely, said it would never happen again, and asked if we could still date. I accepted his apology, said I understand that his project requires all of his attention, but very confused by how he could just disappear like that. We were supposed to meet for a 3-day getaway at the end of his trip, but I asked him if we could postpone it. He was understanding and we agreed to just catch up when he returns this weekend. That's how we left things. That was 3 days ago. We haven't talked since. At this point, not really sure I want to date him anymore. (I mean, how much effort does it take to send one quick text?) Is this a good reason to break up with someone?
