How can i fix the ring scratch in my xbox 360 game.?

my friend gave me a copy of red dead redeption because it had a giant ring scratch in it. i think his mom accidently knocked it over....anyways what can i do to fix this?....p.s. i took it to hastings to get it resufaced and it did not work....
