Why do people think the world would be better if we where all like jesus?

I must have heard a thousand times from people that the world would be a better place if we where all like jesus. But I can't believe that if we where all like jesus we would all be dead. think about it jesus was a wanderer and had no solid job to support himself so for him to live he would have had to steal or beg for food. and if we all lived like that we would all die of cause there would be no one to beg or steal from. I won't deny that jesus preached some pretty nice stuff but none the less his life style was less than admirable.
